“Friday Night Lights” will be the centerpiece of the fall season on DirecTV’s original programming service, The 101 Network.
A critical darling challenged by low ratings on NBC, “Friday Night Lights” returns for a third season with original episodes that will be seen first on DirecTV beginning Oct. 1. The 13 episodes will air on NBC beginning in February.
DirecTV will show extended versions of “Friday Night Lights” that will be presented commercial-free Wednesdays at 9 p.m. ET/PT.
The series will be accompanied by a companion show, “Live From Dillon,” launching Oct. 15. “Live From Dillon” will feature cast members discussing the show and their characters. Live viewer questions may be part of some programs.
Also on The 101 Network is a new season of trivia game show “Rock & A Hard Place,” and “Supreme Court of Comedy,” in which comedians argue real cases in front of comic Dom Irerra, who acts as chief justice.
DirecTV will also offer a sneak peek of new Starz series “Crash,” based on the Academy Award-winning motion picture, on The 101 Network. A “Making Of” special about “Crash” will appear on the channel as well.
