Starz is partnering with cable and satellite providers to offer sneak previews before the launch of its first original series “Crash” on Oct. 17.
The first two episodes of the show will be available via free on-demand through Comcast, Cox, Charter, Time Warner Cable in Los Angeles, Verizon FiOS TV, Mediacom and Insight.
The first episode will air on DirecTV’s The 101 Channel on Oct. 1, the same night as DirecTV’s season premiere of “Friday Night Lights.”
Also, Comcast will stream the first two episodes on Fancast.com, while Verizon will make episodes available for download on Starz’s affiliated broadband video-download service Starz Play.
The sneak previews will run Oct. 1-17.
Starz also is offering viewers incentives to subscribe to its service with $100 Best Buy rebates in select markets for the new Cox Digital service with Starz.
Best Buy will give away 100,000 free “Crash” sneak preview DVDs of the first two episodes beginning Sept. 28 to customers who purchase TV shows on DVD in-store or online.
