Sep 8, 2008  •  Post A Comment

Mobile video technology firm Transpera has inked deals to deliver cell phone video and dynamic targeted ads on phones for MTV Networks, Discovery Communications, AccuWeather, Travel Channel and Next New Networks.
MTV already uses Transpera’s tools for VH1 and for its site Gametrailers.com, with Comedy Central and Web video site Atom to launch in the coming weeks.
Under the deal, VH1 fans can watch daily video clips from popular programs on their phones that have been coupled with targeted ads, such as overlay ads, short pre-rolls or display ads.
Discovery Communications will use Transpera to deliver mobile video for several of its brands, while AccuWeather will supply forecasts to phones. Next New Networks will use the service to deliver content from its Barely Political channel to mobile phones.
