BBC Worldwide confirmed today that Jane Tranter will be joining the company as its executive VP of programming and production to help drive forward its U.S. scripted and reality business. Ms. Tranter will execute her duties from the network’s Los Angeles base, as previously reported.
Ms. Tranter will share responsibility for BBC Worldwide’s North American production business in Los Angeles and New York City with Paul Telegdy, executive VP of content and production.
Ms. Tranter will leave her current position of controller of fiction for the BBC at the end of the year and officially take her new post Jan. 1.
“Whether formatting U.K. shows for U.S. audiences or nurturing close ties with top writing talent, Jane is the perfect person to lead our expansion into drama and comedy, and we’re tremendously fortunate to have her,” BBC Worldwide President Garth Ancier said in a statement.
