Tribune has appointed Marty Wilke vice president and general manager of Chicago’s WGN-TV.
Ms. Wilke joined WGN in 1996, rising to local sales manager in 2001 and director of sales in 2002. She has been interim general manager since late July, overseeing the launch of WGN’s new weekday 5:30 p.m. local newscast.
“Interim-schminterim … Marty’s earned this promotion,” Ed Wilson, president of Tribune Broadcasting, said in a statement. “She’s the right person to lead the station. Her talent, energy, creativity and dedication to WGN-TV’s viewers and advertisers are without question. Marty understands the important role that WGN-TV plays in the community and the connection it has with people all over the Chicagoland area—she’s committed to keeping the station No. 1.”
Ms. Wilke has appointed Errol Gerber as director of sales for WGN-TV.

  1. Hi……..I’ve been loyal fan/viewer of “HOMICIDE: LIFE ON THE STREET” TV Series for eons. You’ve decided to move this series to a time slot that is not convenient hour for viewing.
WHY??? Has this series run its course or was it due to a decision of economics??
I would like to see this series
returned/rescheduled to a daily afternoon/evening hour as it was before.
    Thanxxxx………..Rudy
