Bain Invests in Blip.tv

Online video service blip.tv landed a second round of funding, this one led by Bain Capital Ventures, the companies announced today.
Blip.tv did not disclose the amount but said Bain joins investors from blip.tv’s first round of funding last year, such as Ambient Sound Investments.
The cash infusion will be used to work on the company’s advertising technology and to expand its syndication roster, which already includes AOL Video, iTunes and Sony Bravia TVs.
Blip.tv said it delivered more than 51 million views in September, an increase of more than 250% over the year-ago period. Blip.tv distributed more than 37,000 Web shows, which release about three episodes each month.
