History Promotes Gaffney to Senior VP

Peter Gaffney has been upped to senior vice president of programming strategy, scheduling and acquisitions for History and History International.
Mr. Gaffney has been VP of scheduling and acquisitions for History since 2002. He was responsible for developing and implementing the programming schedule for History and History International.
He also was instrumental in History’s acquisition of the HBO miniseries “Band of Brothers.”
Before joining History, Mr. Gaffney was vice president of program planning and acquisitions for American Movie Classics and VH1.
“In these highly competitive times, Peter has proven to be an excellent business leader and one of the best strategists in our industry,” Nancy Dubuc, executive VP and general manager of History, said in a statement. “Under his direction, both networks have achieved double-digit ratings and impressions increases in all of our key demographics and have significantly enhanced their reach across every content platform.”
