Newsmags Enjoy Emmys Bump

The Emmys, while a ratings disappointment, gave a good-sized bump to syndicated magazine show ratings in the third week of the syndie season.
During the week of Sept. 22 five out of the six magazine shows saw their week-to-week ratings rise, mainly due to Emmy coverage.
Pulling in a 4.2 household rating, CBS Television Distribution’s “Entertainment Tonight” led the group, increasing 14% from the previous week. This is “ET’s” best rating since May sweeps.
CBS’ “Inside Edition” took in a 2.8 rating, increasing 8%, while “The Insider” and NBC Universal Television Distribution’s “Access Hollywood” both rose 6% to a 1.9 rating.
Warner Bros. Domestic Television Distribution’s “Extra” also increased 7% from a week earlier with a 1.6. WB’s “TMZ” stayed flat week-to-week with a 2.0 rating.
For the first-year rookies, NBC Universal’s “Deal or No Deal” continued to ride high with a 1.7 rating, up 13% from the week before, marking the game show’s highest rating yet.
CBS’ “The Doctors” declined 8% to a 1.2 rating, while Sony Pictures Television’s “Judge Karen” (1.0) and Program Partners’ “Family Court with Judge Penny” (0.6) stayed flat.
Warner Bros.’ “The Bonnie Hunt Show” posted its first national rating after two weeks of reprocessing, drawing a 0.8 rating.
Debmar-Mercury’s “Trivial Pursuit: America Plays” did not have its first week’s rating available due to Nielsen reprocessing.
Also, Debmar’s off-cable comedy “Tyler Perry’s House of Payne” returned a 2.0 rating in its first week of syndication.
In talk shows, CBS Television Distribution’s “Oprah” (5.0) and “Dr. Phil” (3.4) were the only two shows in the genre to increase week-to-week, up 6% and 3%, respectively.
Everyone else stayed flat with the exception of NBC Universal’s “The Steve Wilkos Show,” which dropped 10% from the previous week to a 0.9, and 20th Television’s “The Morning Show with Mike and Juliet,” which fell 11% to 0.8.
In court shows, the only movement came from CBS’ “Judge Judy” (4.3) and “Judge Joe Brown” (2.3), who slipped 4% and 2% from the previous week.
CBS Television Distribution’s “Wheel of Fortune” (6.6) and “Jeopardy!” (5.6) moved the needle slightly week-to-week, increasing 3% and 2%, respectively. Among the rest of the game show pack, ABC-Disney’s “Millionaire” declined 4% from a week earlier to a 2.5 rating, while Debmar-Mercury’s “Family Feud” laid flat with a 1.3.

  1. I’ll gear this review to 2 types of people: current Zune owners who are considering an upgrade, and people trying to decide between a Zune and an iPod. (There are other players worth considering out there, like the Sony Walkman X, but I hope this gives you enough info to make an informed decision of the Zune vs players other than the iPod line as well.)

  2. You should give a similar list of other posts for people who like this. I discovered your site two days ago while googling, but I am not really into the blog thing. I don’t think it’s because I do not like blogs, but just due to the fact that I’m a little behind to them.

  3. It’s been bugging me that i have done nothing to change the world. I want to make a change and i want to help those in need. I really like making people feel good. Can anyone please give me some ideas of how i can help change the world? Little things, big things it does not matter as long as were helping
