HD programming picks for Oct. 16-22: “Late Show With David Letterman,” “Recount,” “Man of the Year”
“Late Show With David Letterman” (CBS). Thurs., Oct. 16, 11:35 p.m. Republican presidential candidate John McCain makes a visit to “Late Show” after a cancellation several weeks ago.
“Recount” (HBO). Mon., Oct. 20, 9:30 a.m. ET. Set during the national crisis directly after the 2000 presidential election, “Recount” portrays the laborious process of counting every single ballot and hanging chad in Florida. Kevin Spacey, Denis Leary and Laura Dern star.
“Man of the Year” (HBO Signature). Mon., Oct. 20, 10:30 a.m. ET. Robin Williams plays a Jon Stewart-like comedian who runs for president as a joke, and wins. Barry Levinson directs.
