Comedy Central’s Stephen Colbert Christmas special drew 2.4 million viewers Sunday night.
The ratings were no lump of coal for the network, but Colbert’s audience was elf-sized relative to the record 6.6 million viewers Comedy Central drew for the much less heavily promoted “Jeff Dunham’s Very Special Christmas Special,” which aired the previous Sunday.
Comedy Central said “A Colbert Christmas: The Greatest Gift of All” was No. 1 on Sunday night among young men and increased viewership in the time slot by 14%.
Encore presentations of “A Colbert Christmas: The Greatest Gift of All!” air today at 10 p.m. ET, Wednesday at midnight, Thanksgiving night at 11:30 p.m. and Friday at 3 p.m.

  1. This is excellent!

  2. Delightfully blasphemous send-up of all those phony WASP Andy Williams/Perry Como/etc. holiday specials filmed during the summer months with ex-spouses and fake relatives. And why couldn’t the Wise Men have brought grass to the stable? Next time, however, skip Elvis Costello.
