NBC News is going to contribute an anchor, MSNBC’s Alex Witt, and a lot of NBC News content to cable channel Retirement Living TV’s “Daily Cafe” as the noon weekday hour starts its third season Tuesday.
Continuing with the show will be Fred Grandy, the former actor and former four-term congressman, who will co-anchor live from Washington, while Ms. Witt co-anchors live from New York.
In addition to recycled big-name star interviews with the likes of Elton John, Elvis Costello, Daniel Craig and George Hamilton in the first week alone, “Daily Cafe” will feature NBC-supplied news briefs and weather reports.
RLTV experts and NBC News experts also will contribute regularly to informational segments on such topics as healthy living and personal finance.
Segments featuring “Today’s” Willard Scott and Gene Shalit and members of NBC News’ political team also will be part of the mix.
“The ‘Daily Cafe’ partnership is a great way to share NBC News with a wider audience and specifically tailor our programming to fit the needs of mature adults,” NBC News Senior VP Cheryl Gould said in Friday’s announcement.
RLTV’s target audience is 50-plus.
