Cable One Subscribers Could Lose CBS Programming

Dec 10, 2008  •  Post A Comment

Negotiations between KPHO CBS 5 in Phoenix and Cable One have stalled, the station announced today.
It is possible that Cable One will pull the signal of KPHO CBS 5, which would result in the loss of CBS programming and sports coverage for Cable One customers.
Cable One subscribers could get CBS 5’s programming via a home antenna, DirecTV or Dish Network if that occurs.
“We have reached agreements with all the major cable and satellite companies,” Ed Munson, KPHO vice president and general manager, said in a statement. “We hope to reach a similar agreement with Cable One. However, Cable One apparently does not see the value in KPHO’s local news and CBS programming. Instead they would rather pay money for lightly viewed cable channels.”

  1. I watch CBS all the time. My soaps are on there also. But If Cable One refuses to picj them up..then I have no other choice but to go back to SAtallite.
THIS is ridiculous !! . WE have all been talking about this, and are prepared to do what it takes to get CBS.
WE need , as well as deserve to be able to have our “local News.” This is very important.
