Gregory’s Debut Gooses ‘Meet the Press’ Ratings

David Gregory’s debut as moderator for NBC’s “Meet the Press” gave the Sunday morning news show a ratings win Dec. 14 among total viewers and in several demographics, according to Nielsen Media Research.
“Press” drew 4.7 million total viewers Sunday, topping CBS’ “Face the Nation” (3.5 million), ABC’s “This Week” (3.2 million) and “Fox News Sunday” (1.5 million). NBC’s win marks its 377th for the week out of the last 379 when everyone is at full coverage.
Mr. Gregory’s debut posted a 3.4 rating/9 share among households. CBS came in second (2.4/7), followed by ABC in third (2.2/6) and Fox in fourth (1.0/3). Among households, “Press” has been the No. 1 show for 114 consecutive weeks and the top one for 474 of the last 475 weeks when all networks are at full coverage.
Rankings were similar for viewers 25-54, with NBC (1.4) on top, followed by CBS (1.0), ABC (0.8) and Fox (0.4).
