Craig Hitchcock has been named vice president and executive director of the Los Angeles Paley Center for Media, effective Jan. 12.
Mr. Hitchcock joins the Paley Center from the Hollywood Reporter, where he was the director of sales. He previously had been at Reed Business Information since 1996, working for Broadcasting & Cable, Daily Variety and Variety. He also was a group publisher for home entertainment and retail at Reed Business Information.
“We feel very fortunate to have identified the right executive to step into the leadership role in Los Angeles, a role that has been filled so ably and for seven years by Barbara Dixon, who is retiring in early January,” Pat Mitchell, president-CEO of the Paley Center for Media, said in a statement. “The transition will be timely to ensure that the Paley Center for Media in L.A. continues to strengthen its dual mission to provide programs of value and relevancy for both the media industry and media consumers. Craig brings experience and expertise in both sectors, with strong contacts in the industry and a proven track record with media enthusiasts and consumers. We are anticipating that his innovative ideas, energy and enthusiasm will generate new directions and drive new growth in the Paley Center’s reach and impact.”
