SAG Nominations Fairly Divided Between Cable, Broadcast Performances

HBO was the leader among TV networks in nominations for the 15th annual Screen Actors Guild Awards, announced Thursday morning. The cable network led the way with nine nominations, followed by broadcast leader NBC with eight, ABC with seven and Showtime with six.
Broadcast and cable networks were equally represented in the ensemble for TV series categories.
On the drama side, the ensemble nominees were the casts of ABC’s “Boston Legal,” Showtime’s “Dexter,” Fox’s “House,” AMC’s “Mad Men” and TNT’s “The Closer.”
In the comedy series categories, nominees included NBC’s “30 Rock” and “The Office,” ABC’s “Desperate Housewives,” HBO’s “Entourage” and Showtime’s “Weeds.”
“Mad Men,” “The Closer,” “30 Rock” and HBO’s miniseries “John Adams” led the nominations in TV, each receiving three. “Mad Men’s” Jon Hamm and Elisabeth Moss, “The Closer’s” Kyra Sedgwick, “30 Rock’s” Alec Baldwin and Tina Fey, and “Adams’” Paul Giamatti, Tom Wilkinson and Laura Linney also received recognition in the individual performance categories.

The 15th annual SAG Awards will be presented Jan. 25 in a ceremony to be broadcast live on TNT and TBS.
