WSFL-TV has appointed Jose Suarez as director of local programming for its new morning news show, “SouthFlorida.com Live,” and Web site, which launch next year.
Mr. Suarez has served as news director for Toledo, Ohio’s Fox affiliate and the NBC affiliate in San Angelo, Texas.
He most recently worked at WTVJ NBC 6 and WSCV Telemundo 51 in Miami, developing original programming for their Web channels.
“We are thrilled to have someone with Jose’s news director experience and strong digital media background leading the charge for our new morning show and Web site,” Howard Greenberg, general manager of WSFL-TV, said in a statement. “It’s this type of momentum that signals Tribune’s dedication to new ways of growing its business in this challenging media environment.”

  1. is this the same exact Jose that worked for WUPW, catching gay-oriented dates, while directing WUPW’s 10 PM newscast? I’m shocked he didn’t lose the Miami job, if he kept that up.
I know this since he hit on me DURING the newscasts on a particular website chatroom for Toledo.
