Alltel, GM, Nationwide Insurance to Sponsor USA’s ‘Burn’

Jan 28, 2009  •  Post A Comment

USA Network has signed up three integrated sponsors for its original series “Burn Notice.”
Alltel Wireless, which previously worked with USA on “Psych” and “Monk,” will sponsor an “Ultimate Spy” text-to-win sweepstakes. Over a seven-week story arc, viewers will have a chance to win 40 hot tech gadgets.
General Motor’s Saab 9-3 is being integrated into episodes of “Burn Notice” as the car driven by Gabrielle Anwar’s character. Saab also will be a sponsor of the “Burn Notice”-related Covert Ops 2.0, the most popular online game in USA’s history.
Nationwide Insurance is sponsoring a series of co-branded vignettes featuring “Burn Notice” star Jeffrey Donovan coaching fans on how to protect themselves.
“We always look to find contextually relevant ways to integrate our advertisers’ messaging into our hit shows,” said Chris McCumber, USA’s executive VP for marketing, digital and brand strategy. “The ‘Burn Notice’ marketing initiatives with Alltel Wireless, Nationwide and GM are great examples of how we consistently offer creative marketing solutions that not only integrate our advertiser’s brand message, but also provide the entertainment value our highly engaged viewers have come to expect.”

  6. This is getting a bit more subjective, but I much prefer the Zune Marketplace. The interface is colorful, has more flair, and some cool features like ‘Mixview’ that let you quickly see related albums, songs, or other users related to what you’re listening to. Clicking on one of those will center on that item, and another set of “neighbors” will come into view, allowing you to navigate around exploring by similar artists, songs, or users. Speaking of users, the Zune “Social” is also great fun, letting you find others with shared tastes and becoming friends with them. You then can listen to a playlist created based on an amalgamation of what all your friends are listening to, which is also enjoyable. Those concerned with privacy will be relieved to know you can prevent the public from seeing your personal listening habits if you so choose.
