‘Burn’ Has Scorching Debut, but ‘Beast’ Loses Viewers in 2nd Airing

USA Network’s winter debut of “Burn Notice” on Thursday at 10 p.m. scored a series-to-date high rating among adults 18-49. On A&E, “The Beast” starring Patrick Swayze saw some double-digit percentage drops from last week’s premiere.
“Burn Notice” posted a 1.9 rating/5 share among adults 18-49, according to Nielsen Media Research numbers. The performance was its best ever in the demographic and a 19% rating increase from its finale last September.
Last night’s episode drew 5.1 million total viewers, coming in as the series’ second most-watched episode ever, just behind the season opener from last July.
“Burn” was the No. 1 show on cable for the night in both the demographic and in total viewers.
The second week of A&E’s “The Beast” posted a 0.6/2 among adults 18-49 and drew 1.6 million viewers. Last night’s episode showed a 25% rating decrease in the demo and a 33% decrease in viewers from last week’s premiere in the network’s 10 p.m. timeslot.
