As expected, former “Today” show producer Amy Chiaro has been named co-executive producer of “Dr. Oz,” Sony Pictures Television announced today.
Ms. Chiaro joins co-executive producer Mindy Moore Borman, who has worked as a producer on “The View” and “Good Morning America,” on “Oz,” from Sony Pictures Television and Harpo Productions.
“It is great to have someone of Amy’s caliber to serve as a key player in leading our core team of producers,” Holly Jacobs, executive VP of reality and syndication at Sony Pictures Television, said in a statement. “Her extensive experience in producing high-profile national news shows, along with a strong production background on the station side, will play an instrumental role in the success of ‘Dr. Oz.'”
Ms. Chiaro comes to “Oz” from NBC’s “Today,” where she was a senior broadcast producer.
Currently cleared in 94% of the country in 160 markets, “Dr. Oz” has been sold on Fox, Gannett, Post-Newsweek, Belo, Scripps, McGraw-Hill, Hearst-Argyle and Fisher stations. It will be filmed at Rockefeller Center in New York City.
