“Wife Swap” producer RDF USA has hired former TruTV executive Lauren Gellert as senior vice president, based in New York.
Ms. Gellert will create and develop unscripted series and specials for RDF as well as overseeing existing projects. She reports to Chris Coelen, chief executive officer for RDF USA.
“It’s a huge coup for us to get Lauren on our team,” Mr. Coelen said. “Not only is she highly regarded within the industry, but she also has a unique pop sensibility that’s a perfect fit for us.”
Ms. Gellert most recently was head of development and VP of alternative programming at TruTV. She helped the network transition from its previous identity as Court TV, working on shows such as “Most Shocking,” “Speeders” and “Rehab: Party at the Hard Rock Hotel.”
Before working at Court TV/TruTV, Ms. Gellert spent seven years at VH1 as director of original programming.
Also joining RDF USA is Kevin Duncan, who has been hired as a coordinator.
RDF’s programming slate includes “Don’t Forget the Lyrics,” “The Two Coreys” and “How to Look Good Naked.” The company is awaiting word on a pickup for “Secret Millionaire,” the Fox series that premiered last month to solid ratings, averaging 10 million viewers its first night.
