TCA Video: CBS’ Tassler on Network Troubles

CBS Entertainment President Nina Tassler is surveying the broadcast networks’ businesses. Rather than gloat at her competitors’ difficulties, she’s empathizing with the pain that will come with cutbacks in primetime scripted programming.
At the Television Critics Association’s Winter Press Tour, Ms. Tassler talked with TelevisionWeek’s Josef Adalian about the difficult broadcast environment and how CBS has thrived lately. Part of the formula is sticking with crime dramas, but the network also is branching out with other genres, including a pilot for a variety show with pop singer John Mayer.
