Online views of President Barack Obama’s inauguration speech and swearing in on Tuesday skyrocketed overnight, according to data from online video measurement firm Visible Measures.
By about 24 hours after the event, videos of the inauguration had been viewed more than 4 million times on the Web, a huge jump from the 300,000 views reported by mid-afternoon on Inauguration Day. The total view count is closing in on that of Mr. Obama’s election night speech, which garnered 5 million views in 24 hours.
There are more than 950 placements of the videos across the Web and those clips have yielded more than 40,000 comments, Visible Measures said.
