ABC Buys Saget’s ‘Surviving Suburbia’

ABC has acquired the rights to never-aired CW comedy “Surviving Suburbia” and is giving the Bob Saget vehicle a plum spot behind “Dancing with the Stars” on Mondays.
“Suburbia” was a victim of producer Media Rights Capital’s failed attempt to program the CW’s Sunday night lineup. After the CW deal collapsed, MRC made it clear it would try to find new homes for some of its shows, including “Suburbia.”
“Suburbia” had been set to debut on the CW this March, but MRC’s lineup collapsed before it could air.
Now the series will air Mondays at 9:30 p.m., immediately after ABC’s “Dancing with the Stars.” It will premiere April 6.
ABC had planned to once again air “Samantha Who?” in the Monday time slot. The network has instead decided to pair “Samantha” with newcomer “In the Motherhood” on Thursday nights.
