Alloy, UTA Launch Video Network for Teen.com

Alloy Media+Marketing, whose sister company Alloy Entertainment developed The CW television series “Gossip Girl” and “The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants” films, is partnering with United Talent Agency to start a short-form video network for its Teen.com Web site.
Teen.com “TV” will debut Webisodes of shows such as “Private,” based on the New York Times bestseller, and “Haute and Bothered,” which will be co-developed with UTA, Alloy said in a statement today. Teen.com’s video network also will include behind-the-scenes footage of “Gossip Girl” and the ABC miniseries “Samurai Girl.”
Alloy and UTA are looking to expand the popularity of its teen-oriented network, whose Web site has attracted about 20 million users, Alloy said. Teen.com is the most visited online community among teens, according to ComScore.
LG Electronics’ mobile phone division will sponsor Teen.com “TV” programming, which will feature some of LG products in its shows. Sears Holdings and Paramount Pictures are among other companies that have advertised on Teen.com.
