CBS Sports’ Nantz Named Sportscaster of the Year

The National Sportscasters & Sportswriters Association has named CBS Sports’ Jim Nantz its 2008 National Sportscaster of the Year.
The award, which is being bestowed for the 50th year, was voted on by 1,000 members of the NSSA.
Mr. Nantz was the recipient of the award last year, as well as in 2005 and 1998. He has been with the CBS Television Network since 1985, taking on the role of lead play-by-play voice for the NFL on CBS in 2004. He also anchored “The NFL Today” pre-game show for six years.
IN 2007, Mr. Nantz was the first commentator to broadcast the Super Bowl, NCAA Final Four and golf’s Masters in the same year.
