Fox News Ups Sammon, Boughton in Washington

Bill Sammon has been named Fox News’ vice president of news and Washington managing editor.
Also, Fox News has appointed Bryan Boughton as Washington bureau chief.
Mr. Sammon, who takes over for Brit Hume as Washington managing editor, will oversee all editorial content for the bureau and D.C.-based network operations.
He spent 25 years working as a print journalist before joining Fox News Channel in 2008. Before that, he served as White House correspondent for the Washington Examiner and the Washington Times, in addition to working as war correspondent for the Stars & Stripes.
Mr. Boughton most recently was the bureau manager and deputy bureau chief. He also served as director of special events and political director for midterm election coverage in 2006. He began his career at Fox News 14 years ago as one of the original overnight assignment editors.
