Multimedia production shop Generate is bucking the layoff trend, announcing several new hires today.
The company added Chris Gwiazda as chief financial officer and Tim Stephen as executive vice president of business affairs.
In addition, Generate said founding partner Pete Aronson will serve as president of Generate Studios, the company’s development and production arm for film, TV and the Web. In that role he will oversee shows developed as part of the development deal Generate signed last month with 20th Century Fox Television.
In addition, Emmy-winning producer Michael Petok joins Generate Studios as head of production for all of its projects.
Mr. Gwiazda recently worked in finance and analysis at HBO and also worked on the network’s new-media programming team.
Mr. Stephen most recently was counsel at Cartoon Network and helped build the network’s live-action series and movie business.
Mr. Petok worked with Mr. Aronson on “The Bernie Mac Show” and won an Emmy for “In Living Color.”
