GSN has given the thumbs-up to its original series “Catch 21,” greenlighting the Alfonso Ribeiro-hosted show for a second season.
The network has ordered 65 additional episodes of “Catch” and has slotted the season-two premiere for April 6 at 6:30 p.m. “Catch” will be paired with GSN’s Michael Davies-produced revival of “The Newlywed Game,” which premieres the same night.
GSN is tweaking the look of “Catch,” giving the show a completely redesigned set and a larger studio audience. The show’s bonus round also has been revamped to make winning a bit easier.
“We’re excited to bring this high-energy show back to viewers with the same great host and team of producers, but with more opportunity for big-time winners and a whole new look that invites the audience to join in on the fun,” said Kelly Goode, GSN senior VP of programming.
Mr. Ribeiro hosts “Catch” with Mikki Padilla. The series, created by Merrill Heatter (“The Hollywood Squares”), is produced by Mr. Heatter and Scott Sternberg (“Rock and Roll Jeopardy”) of Scott Sternberg Productions.
GSN plans to air repeats of “Catch” at 10:30 p.m. nightly and at 4:30 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays, pairing them with “Newlywed” encores.
GSN also will offer a online version of the show available for playing anytime via GSN.com/catch21.
