Promax/BDA is adding new categories for its annual awards ceremony, including one to honor the late voiceover artist Don LaFontaine.
The Promax/BDA Awards honor excellence in promotion, marketing and design in the entertainment industry. Other categories to be included especially for 2009 will be the 2008 Olympics and the U.S. presidential election.
The Don LaFontaine Award will recognize outstanding work done by voice talent in entertainment promotion. This year’s Olympics category will be open to submissions from around the world, while the American Presidential Election category will be part of the U.S. prizes.
Submissions for categories will be accepted until Feb. 27, and winners selected by a jury of experts will be announced as part of the organization’s annual conference June 16-18 in New York.
