Sony Pictures Television named Dan Thomas senior VP for branded entertainment.
Mr. Thomas previously was senior VP for sales development and marketing at Univision Communications.
In his new post, Mr. Thomas will work with clients and agencies to bring digital projects to Sony’s Crackle.com Web site.
Mr. Thomas also will be developing product integrations for television series, including first-run syndicated properties such as “Dr. Oz.”
“With Crackle gaining momentum, there is more opportunity to involve brands earlier in the process,” Amy Carney, president of advertiser sales at Sony Pictures Television, said in a statement. “Dan’s experience in new business and in creating unique opportunities for his clients will bring a great new advantage to our team.”
Before joining Univision, Mr. Thomas was VP of sales development and new media at Lifetime Television.
