USA’s ‘Monk,’ Bayer Honor Kamel With Heart Disease PSA

Feb 4, 2009  •  Post A Comment

USA Network and Bayer Aspirin have teamed up to honor “Monk” actor Stanley Kamel, who died of heart disease last spring.
“Monk” cast members Tony Shalhoub, Traylor Howard, Ted Levine and Jason Gray-Stanford will appear in a public service announcement on heart health as part of the tribute. The 30-second PSA will air Feb. 6-28 on USA.
A custom 10-second bumper by Bayer Aspirin, which will sponsor USA’s microsite, will direct viewers online for more information.
“USA was deeply saddened by the loss of our friend and colleague, and the heart-healthy PSA from the cast of ‘Monk’ felt like an appropriate way to honor Stanley’s memory and legacy,” Chris McCumber, USA’s executive VP of marketing, digital and brand strategy, said in a statement.

  1. Stanley Kamel played a wide variety of roles, from villains to heroes to everyday people…to Monk’s analyst…each and every one with great zeal and attention to detail. Those of us who were familiar with his work will miss him deeply. The PSA is thoughtful and appropriate.

  2. Good post, thanks

  3. Super site, and niec text.

  4. Apple now has Rhapsody as an app, which is a great start, but it is currently hampered by the inability to store locally on your iPod, and has a dismal 64kbps bit rate. If this changes, then it will somewhat negate this advantage for the Zune, but the 10 songs per month will still be a big plus in Zune Pass’ favor.
