Warner Bros. Domestic Television Distribution’s “TMZ” is cleared for the next two years in 97% of the country.
“TMZ,” which was cleared for 2009 through 2011 on the Fox Television Stations in November, has added stations from nearly two dozen other groups, including Sinclair, Tribune, Raycom, LIN, Grant Communications and Acme Television, the distributor announced today.
“From the outset, ‘TMZ’ was targeted toward an audience that the other entertainment news shows were not serving, a younger, more gender-balanced group of people interested in a different visual and editorial point of view,” Ken Werner, president of Warner Bros. Domestic Television Distribution, said in a statement.
“In its first two years, ‘TMZ’ has wonderfully delivered on that target. The announcement today that we have two-year deals in virtually the entire country is a great endorsement by our station partners and an indication that ‘TMZ’ is a franchise stations can count on for years to come,” he said.
In its second year, “TMZ” posted a 2.0 household rating in the last syndication ratings period, holding steady from this time last year.
“TMZ” is produced by Telepictures Productions. Harvey Levin and Jim Paratore are executive producers.
