The highly anticipated finale of “Battlestar Galactica” on Sci Fi drew 2.4 million viewers, the largest audience in three years for the series.
Battlestar Galactica
Friday night’s two-hour wrap-up of the space saga drew a 1.7 household rating. It also had 1.5 million adults 18 to 49 and 1.6 million adults 25 to 54, the best since season 2.5 in 2006.
The early national ratings from Nielsen cover live viewing.
Sci Fi, which is changing its name to Syfy in July, plans to keep the “Battlestar” franchise alive. It will air a movie, “The Plan,” directed by “Battlestar’s” Edward James Olmos in the fall.
And the “Battlestar” prequel “Caprica” is expected to air early next year. A two-hour pilot is expected on DVD in April.

  1. Ron Moore is a true genius! I wish him well on his next project

  2. Great ending, entertaining way to pass on the “Ancient Astronaunt” teachings to a new younger audience.

  3. I agree, it was a great ending to a show that i’ve watched for 4 years and had seen them all. I’ve already watched it 3 times and plan on watching it again a few more times. Really enjoyed the battle scenes half hour into the show.

  4. Unfortunately, the show did get 2.4 million viewers for the final episode. But, it was not the SCI-FI Channel’s that week, the SFC’s “Ghost Hunters” got 2.7 million making it their top show.
It was not even the top show on cable that Friday as well. According to the ratings that week…
The highest rated shows that Friday night were:
    Suite Life on Deck(Disney) – 3.4 million
Star Wars: The Clone Wars(Cartoon) – 3.4 million
making it the top sci-fi cable series.
    Spongebob Squarepants(Nickelodeon)-
    3.3 million
It seems when a yellow sponge that lives in a pinepple does better than the overhype of the
SFC Galactica..It shows Ron Moore just can’t people to watch his complicated plot of a show.
