CBS hired former Yahoo! executive Jennifer Vescio to help lead business-development efforts at its rapidly growing CBS Interactive division.
Vescio, who will be vice president of business development of CBS Interactive’s global business, will try to grow sales from CBS News’ Web site as well as CNET and BNET, CBS said in a statement yesterday.
Last month, CBS said its interactive unit’s fourth-quarter operating profit surged to $28.7 million from $1.4 million a year earlier as revenue tripled to $186.3 million. The division’s sales accounted for 5% of CBS’s revenue, up from 1.6% a year earlier.
Vescio worked as managing director of the Yahoo! Publisher Network before joining CBS. Before Yahoo!, Vescio worked for Monster Worldwide.
