Kathy O’Hearn will executive produce Christiane Amanpour’s upcoming program for CNN International.
The show, launching in September, will be a New York-based, half-hour show airing weekdays during European primetime on CNN International and on Sunday afternoons on CNN in the U.S.
Ms. O’Hearn previously was a producer at ABC, covering the 2008 U.S. presidential election and executive producing “This Week With George Stephanopoulos” for three years.
She was integral to CNN’s Emmy Award-winning coverage of 9/11 and the launch of “American Morning With Paula Zahn.” Ms. O’Hearn has received numerous awards, including two Walter Cronkite Awards, an Emmy Award, a Peabody Award and two Edward R. Murrow Awards.
“Kathy and Christiane will make a formidable team,” Tony Maddox, executive vice president and managing director of CNN International, said in a statement. “By combining Kathy’s track record of news-making interviews and award-winning show production with Christiane’s journalistic tenacity and global recognition, we have created a signature show that will be the heart of the schedule.”
