Univision Scores Big With ‘Premio Lo Nuestro’

Univision’s presentation of the “Premio Lo Nuestro a la Música Latina” drew 13 million total viewers Thursday night, the biggest audience in the show’s 21-year history.
Last night’s three-hour telecast averaged 6.6 million viewers, in addition to the 13 million that watched part of the telecast.
“Premio” ranked as the highest-rated program among viewers 18-49 in the Los Angeles, New York, Miami, Houston, Dallas and Sacramento, Calif., markets; it also claimed top spots in some of those and other markets among several of the younger age groups. The awards show also took the top spot for the day in Los Angeles, Miami and Houston among men, women and adults 18-49.
The annual “Premio Lo Nuestro” recognizes achievement in Latin music. Last night’s telecast included a special message from President Barack Obama.
