Discovery Ups Day to COO, Digital Media/Commerce

Discovery Communications has promoted Kelly Day to COO of its digital media and commerce division.
Ms. Day will be responsible for the company’s U.S. Web sites, interactive technology, digital operations and programming, and licensing and home entertainment.
She was previously the COO of Discovery’s Commerce division, overseeing DiscoveryStore.com. Ms. Day was vice-president of e-commerce for The Knot and held several digital media/commerce positions at AOL and, in particular, AOL Shopping.
“Kelly has proven herself to be a strong operational leader and has built a robust commerce offering that extends the Discovery brand beyond the television screen,” Bruce Campbell, president of Digital Media and Corporate Development, said in a statement. “With her broad understanding of technology and consumer behavior, she is the ideal candidate to deepen the level of engagement across all of our digital platforms.”
