The NBA signed a new deal with DirecTV that expands distribution of NBA TV.
DirecTV also will continue to distribute the NBA League Pass package of out-of-market games to its customers.
Beginning with the 2009-10 season, NBA TV will become part of DirecTV’s Choice Xtra package and move from channel 601 to channel 216.
“This new agreement will allow millions of additional fans to experience NBA TV’s more than 100 live NBA games and its Emmy award-winning roster of announcers,” NBA Deputy Commissioner and Chief Operating Officer Adam Silver said in a statement. “We appreciate our longtime partner DirecTV for its commitment to bringing our fans wall-to-wall NBA coverage.”
