NBC Renews ‘SVU,’ Although Stars Have Yet to Commit

NBC has officially greenlit another season of “Law & Order: SVU”—but it’s still unclear if the show’s lead actors will be back.
The network confirmed Tuesday that it had picked up producer Dick Wolf’s “SVU” for its 11th season, an unsurprising development since NBC owns the “L&O” franchise and “SVU” is the network’s top-rated drama.
“I’m thrilled that ‘Law & Order: SVU’ will be back for an 11th season,” Mr. Wolf said.
But while Mr. Wolf’s show will be back, NBC insiders said there’s still no agreement for stars Christopher Meloni and Mariska Hargitay to return.
Mr. Wolf has a history of not negotiating huge raises for talent on his shows and for looking down on actors who try to play hardball in contract disputes.
NBC’s confirmation of the “SVU” deal still leaves uncertain the future of Mr. Wolf’s original “Law & Order” and spinoff “Law & Order: Criminal Intent.” The latter series airs first on USA Network.

  1. Hargitay and Meloni are high class talent. Real actors and professionals. They have taken cop shows out of the simplistic, puerile mode into serious issues and quality content. So these two have to beg for high salary when mediocre ball players and rock stars already make more? C’mon, Dick Wolfe, you have something grand. Pay for it and keep it.

  2. Apple now has Rhapsody as an app, which is a great start, but it is currently hampered by the inability to store locally on your iPod, and has a dismal 64kbps bit rate. If this changes, then it will somewhat negate this advantage for the Zune, but the 10 songs per month will still be a big plus in Zune Pass’ favor.

  3. I love the expression. Everyone needs to express there own opinion and feel free to hear others. Keep it up 🙂

  4. High quality info here! Keep up the great work. I love the feelings being expressed.

  6. I like this site presented and it has given me some sort of desire to have success for some reason, so thank you.
