Robin Schwartz has resigned as president of Oprah Winfrey’s new cable channel, OWN Television.
The departure was announced by Christina Norman, who was named CEO of OWN: The Oprah Winfrey Network months after Ms. Schwartz joined the company.
OWN said there were no plans to fill Ms. Schwartz’s position.
“I want to thank Robin for her hard work, dedication and passion over the past several months,” said Ms. Norman in a statement. “She assembled a great executive team and grew the vision for OWN out of its infancy. As a result of her resignation, I’ve decided to streamline executive reporting and will not be replacing the position.”
Two executives who had reported to Ms. Schwartz, Nina Wass, senior VP for creative affairs, and Maria Grasso, senior VP for programming, will report to Ms. Norman.
Ms. Schwartz joined OWN last June from Regency Television.
