“Today” is hitting the road May 4 for “‘Today’ Takes a Vacation.”
“Today” anchors Matt Lauer, Meredith Vieira, Al Roker, Ann Curry, Natalie Morales, Hoda Kotb and Kathie Lee Gifford will travel to San Antonio, Texas, Key West, Fla., and a surprise location.
The “Vacation” kicks off May 4 in San Antonio, where the show will broadcast live from the Alamo. Lee Ann Womack will stop by for a special performance.
The Texas visit also will feature Ms. Vieira interviewing former First Lady Laura Bush and a tour of Dallas led by Mrs. Bush.
The show will broadcast from Mallory Square in Key West, Fla., on May 5, with a special performance by Jimmy Buffett.
“‘Today’ Takes a Vacation” marks the second time all four hours of “Today” have been broadcast from remote locations. “‘Today’ Takes a Winter Break,” in February 2008, visited Sugarbush, Vt., and Miami Beach.

  1. I was eager to see San Antonio on the Today Show this morning and was shocked to find that it was not broadcasting from the city where I live. Why is this so? Could it be that although our city continues to function normally that the Today Show was scared off by the flu? Not a good message for the millions of people who live in Texas and are going about their normal routines. Did Dr. Nancy agree? You all must have listened to Dr. Joe Biden.
