Univision and Time Warner Cable have signed a multiyear retransmission-consent deal for Univision’s broadcast and cable offerings.
Broadcast networks Univision and TeleFutura, as well as cable offering Galavision, are covered by the retransmission deal, the companies announced.
Along with the retransmission rights, Time Warner and Univision will collaborate on video services, including video-on-demand and broadband content.
“Univision’s local programming is extremely important to us and our customers, so we are very glad that we were able to renew our partnership agreement with them,” Melinda Witmer, Time Warner Cable’s executive VP/chief programming officer, said in a statement. “Our customers will benefit from this new arrangement, as it represents an exciting long-term expansion of our relationship with Univision for Spanish-language programming.”
