Press release from DIY Network:

NEW YORK — April 23, 2013 — DIY Network, the go-to destination for rip-up knock-out home improvement television, announced today that it has added four exciting new series featuring celebrities with a passion for home renovation and historic restoration to its popular primetime line-up. Currently in production, Vanilla Ice Goes Amish, The Rev. Run Project, The Daryl Hall Project and Bronson Pinchot Saves America are set to premiere later this year and in 2014.

“Celebrities own and renovate homes just like the rest of us — some even know enough about renovation and real estate to flip homes for a profit,” said Kathleen Finch, general manager of DIY Network and sister property HGTV. “Watching Vanilla Ice swing a hammer, Rev. Run and his wife debate over what color to paint the living room, Bronson Pinchot restore a historic residence, or Daryl Hall deal with his local zoning board, makes them real and fascinating to watch. Fans rarely get the chance to see celebrities deal with these kinds of issues and it is fun to see them tackling the same things all homeowners do.”

Debuting later this year, the new series Vanilla Ice Goes Amish features Vanilla Ice, ‘90s pop icon and host of DIY Network’s The Vanilla Ice Project, as he learns from the greatest craftsmen in the world. With no frills, no music and no power tools, Vanilla Ice tackles life, including building a barn, at the largest U.S. Amish settlement in Holmes County, Ohio. The rock star renovator also returns with a fourth season of The Vanilla Ice Project next year.

Joseph Ward Simmons, best known as “Rev. Run” from American hip hop group Run DMC, keeps it in the family as his 9,000 sq. ft. home in New Jersey undergoes a complete renovation in The Rev. Run Project. Premiering in 2014, DIY Network documents Rev. Run, his wife Justine and his three children, as they give their 4-bedroom, 5-bathroom a much-needed facelift. The series captures this family-based project as they update the entire house, including the great room, kitchen, garage and more. They even add an indoor swimming pool!

Bronson Pinchot, Hollywood’s favorite character actor and salvage and renovation expert, also gets a new 2014 spin-off. In Bronson Pinchot Saves America, Pinchot and Mikey, his trusted sidekick from DIY Network’s The Bronson Pinchot Project, scavenge their way through the U.S. to rescue previous artifacts from demolition.

Also next year, DIY Network debuts The Daryl Hall Project, featuring singer/songwriter Daryl Hall from musical duo Hall & Oates as he fuels his second passion for historic home restoration with his latest project, a quaint 1700s Connecticut farm house. In the new series, Hall plans to revive this 1-bedroom into a new family home that was originally built by a widowed sea captain. Hall’s care in historically accurate restoration must be melded with the mandates of modernity and small town regulations.

DIY Network’s current celebrity home improvement programming includes The Vanilla Ice Project (Sundays at 10 p.m. ET) and The Bronson Pinchot Project (Saturdays at 11 p.m. ET). Viewers can also become fans of DIY Network and interact with other home improvement enthusiasts and do-it-yourselfers through Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Pinterest. DIY Network is available nationwide on DISH Network Ch. 111 and DIRECTV Ch. 230, and additional cable channel designations may be found by checking local listings and DIYNetwork.com/tv.
