Press release from Investigation Discovery, Nov. 5, 2014:

With the help of TV’s beloved loud-mouth mom and infamous comedienne, Roseanne Barr, MOMSTERS: WHEN MOMS GO BAD uncovers a bizarre world where mothers will do anything for their children’s happiness. From the little league mama who stalks and threatens her son’s coach to the pageant parent who will stop at nothing to get her daughter the crown, these mothers are not afraid to cross boundaries and get their hands dirty. MOMSTERS: WHEN MOMS GO BAD premieres on the most appropriate day of the year, Black Friday, November 28 at 10/9c with back-to-back episodes.

“These ‘momsters’ find themselves knee-deep in schemes so sordid and unexpected that the only way out is to keep going – you will laugh at the inherent humor of these situations just as often as you gasp at the shock of their crimes,” said Henry Schleiff, Group President of Investigation Discovery, Destination American, American Heroes Channel, Discovery Family Channel and Discovery Fit & Health. “Roseanne acts as the mother of all meltdowns in her uniquely sarcastic tone while telling the stories of the many women who give Mommie Dearest a run for her money.”

Leading up to the premiere of MOMSTERS: WHEN MOMS GO BAD, ID is encouraging viewers to skip those dangerous sales and instead sit back and enjoy the first-ever Black Friday Watch ‘Til You Drop Marathon, hosted by ardent ID fan Barr, kicking off at 2pm on November 28. 1. I’m an admitted I.D. Addict; the shows are always interesting, based in reality and the network gives more actors opportunities for steady employment.

One of the fall premiere shows is “Momsters, When good moms go bad”, hosted by Roseanne Barr. The shows follow the I.D. formula so they’re interesting, well-acted and visually appealing, but using Roseanne Barr as the host really ruins it all for me. Every time she comes on screen, she spoils the whole effect. Her “gun moll” attitude, poor grammar and delivery and stupid comments are so distracting, I have to mute the show. I don’t understand the producers’ thinking in hiring Roseanne as a host. They use Susan Lucci to host another I.D. show and the contrast is amazing. Please find another host or hostess for this series before I write it off completely ! Thank you.
