Complete List of Nominees for the 28th Annual Kids Choice Awards, to Be Cablecast on Nickelodeon on March 28, 2015

Santa Monica, Calif. – (February 20, 2015) – Who will vie for the coveted blimp in a year marked by a slew of first-time celebrity nods?  Fans have voiced their favorites as Nickelodeon announces the nominations for the 28th Annual Kids’ Choice Awards.  With four new categories added, this year’s new nominees include Iggy Azalea, Sam Smith, Angelina Jolie, 5 Seconds of Summer, Channing Tatum, Meryl Streep, Meghan Trainor, Chris Pratt, Fifth Harmony, Echosmith, Jessie J, Liam Hemsworth, Elle Fanning, Imagine Dragons, Kira Kosarin and Laura Marano.  Kids also picked superstar nominees Beyoncé, Cameron Diaz, Jamie Foxx, Ariana Grande, OneRepublic, Hugh Jackman, Bruno Mars, Nicki Minaj, Ben Stiller, One Direction, Katy Perry, Taylor Swift, Jennifer Garner, Maroon 5, Scarlett Johansson and more.  Multi-talented singer/songwriter and actor Nick Jonas will host the celebration live on Saturday, March 28, at 8 p.m. (ET/PT) from The “Fabulous” Forum in Inglewood, Calif.

 

Beginning Friday, Feb. 20, kids can cast their votes across 21 categories, including new additions Favorite Talent Competition Show, Favorite Family TV Show, Most Addicting Game and Favorite New Artist across all of Nickelodeon’s digital platforms includingNick.com and the Nick app on Android, iOS and Kindle. Users will be able to vote on Nickelodeon’s Twitter feed using #KCA. Furthermore, fans can join in on the slime-fest by going to Nick.com/kca15, the official destination for everything Kids’ Choice Awards, with hilarious videosquizzesphoto galleries, weekly polls and get the latest KCA news on this year’s show and nominees.

 

Superheroes dominated the movie categories this year with The Amazing Spider-Man 2 and X-Men: Days of Future Past going head-to-head with five nominations each. The Amazing Spider-Man 2 webbed its nods for Favorite Movie, Emma Stone for Favorite Movie Actress, Andrew Garfield for Favorite Male Action Star and Jamie Foxx for Favorite Villain and Favorite Movie Actor.  X-Men: Days of Future Past garnered nominations for Jennifer Lawrence, Halle Berry and Ellen Page who will battle it out for Favorite Female Action Star and Hugh Jackman for Favorite Movie Actor and Favorite Male Action Star.  Receiving four nominations are Guardians of the GalaxyThe Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1. and Maleficent whose star, Angelina Jolie, earned two nominations for Favorite Movie Actress and Favorite Villain.

 

In the music categories, Ariana Grande and Iggy Azalea both scored three nominations.  Taylor Swift will go up against Ariana Grande for Favorite Female Singer, while Iggy Azalea and Meghan Trainor duel for Favorite New Artist.  Favorite Male Singer Justin Timberlake returns to defend his title against Sam Smith, Pharrell Williams, Nick Jonas, Blake Shelton and Bruno Mars.

 

In television, The Big Bang Theory competes against Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.Once Upon a TimeModern FamilyGotham andThe Flash in the Favorite Family TV Show category, while Favorite Talent Competition Show puts giants American Idol and The Voice against America’s Got TalentDancing with the Stars, So You Think You Can Dance and America’s Next Top Model.

 

The 2015 Nickelodeon’s Kids’ Choice Awards will roll out in international markets within hours of airing live in the United States, Canada and Australia, giving kids around the globe the opportunity to tune into their local Nickelodeon channel to enjoy the show. Voting for the 2015 KCAs will span six continents across 19 localized voting sites in addition to Twitter hashtag voting (#KCA) giving kids practically everywhere the chance to decide who takes home a coveted blimp.
