Press release from A+E Networks, Sept. 27, 2017:
Faye Penn has been appointed Vice President, Editorial, Lifetime, it was announced today by Lea Goldman, Editor-in-Chief, Lifetime, Lifetime Movies and FYI to whom she will report.
As Vice President, Editorial Penn will help develop innovative and award-winning digital content across Lifetime, as well as A+E Networks’ female-focused brands Lifetime Movies and FYI, to further establish these brands’ authority as the preeminent voice for women across the media landscape.
“Faye is a brilliant idea machine deft at thinking broadly about content. It’s not just about what you make, but where it lives and how it’s distributed,” said Goldman. “She is a digital native with a deep understanding of content and how to amplify it. As a writer, editor and entrepreneur who launched her own start-up and spearheaded important branded partnerships that helped make InStyle one of the most talked about beauty and fashion media outlets in America, I know she will be a valuable asset to the editorial team here at A+E Networks.”
Penn joins A+E Networks from InStyle, where she recently served as Executive Editor in a hybrid role that combined print and digital editorial with business development and brand extensions. Previously, Penn held leadership roles at New York Magazine, The New York Observer and The New York Post. In 2009 she founded Brokelyn, a buzzy web-mag devoted to budget living in Brooklyn, and later spun off a successful series of beer, wine and cocktail passports.
A+E Networks’ editorial team was implemented in January 2017, with Goldman as Editor-in-Chief, Lifetime, Lifetime Movies and FYI and Tiffanie Darke as Editor-in-Chief, A&E and HISTORY. Goldman and Darke lead the team with a focus on editorial strategy, sparking and coordinating writing, and creation and curation of content for use on-air, across digital and on social platforms. They also support the company’s efforts to initiate non-traditional strategic partnerships, events and sponsorship opportunities.
