Video: How, Not If, to Test New Syndie Shows Is Key, Nogawski Says

Testing syndicated shows is important, CBS Television Distribution President John Nogawski agreed with Debmar-Mercury Co-President Mort Marcus at TelevisionWeek’s Syndication Roundtable.
“I don’t think we should be putting shows on the air and testing it on their air,” Mr. Nogawski said.
While Mr. Marcus has had to take a more grassroots testing approach with a group of stations, “I just happen to have the luxury of some franchises I can do it in,” Mr. Nogawski said.
“The Insider” was tested and branded on “Entertainment Tonight,” while “The Doctors” was introduced on “Dr. Phil” before launching, he pointed out.
