SAG, AFTRA Signals Cross for Cable

The Screen Actors Guild and the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists disagree on whether basic-cable conditions should be included in studio negotiations scheduled to start April 1, Daily Variety says. SAG has insisted basic-cable conditions be addressed while AFTRA, which has threatened to split off and negotiate with the studios alone, says basic cable is a peripheral issue, the magazine reports.
