Station Sites May Keep Ads Parked

The head of the Television Bureau of Advertising said advertisers should be cautious about pulling money out of television, and said TV station Web sites make local media more attractive, Mediaweek reports. Speaking at the group’s annual marketing conference TVB President Chris Rohrs was reacting to reports General Motors is planning to spend as much as half of its ad dollars to digital in the future.

  1. He’s right. GM pulls out and stations resell inventory. GM realizes blunder and wants to buy back the time in late 2008. GM pays more to get the same TRPS.It’s like watching the same movie over and over again. large companies did the same thing with Google ad words. It’s just tough to beat the effect of a :30 ad in front of millions of people for sales impact.
