NBC Universal has sold its 34-acre Burbank lot to developer M. David Paul/Worthe Real Estate Group, reports Broadcasting & Cable. Divisions including NBC network news, KNBC-TV, Telemundo and “Access Hollywood” will move to Universal City by 2011, the magazine says. The peacock net will lease back portions of the Burbank property until new facilities are built.

  1. NBC Burbank, a lot of great history there.
Dinah Shore’s Sunday night variety show, George Gobel’s Saturday night show, Bob Hope Specials, Rowna & Martin’s Laugh In, The Midnight Special, Johnny Carson’s Tonight Show after it left NYC, dozens more NBC series, Dick Clark’s Good Old Days specials, and on and on….
I did the two hour pilot for Solid Gold there in January of 1980.
Game shows, soap operas and everyone crossed paths at the NBC Commissary, “a place for lunch and gas”.
A new coup for the Peacock soon. Good luck.
